1 ¶ Voici les fils de David, qui lui naquirent à Hébron. Le premier-né, Amnon, d’Achinoam de Jizreel ; le second, Daniel, d’Abigaïl de Carmel ;

David. La raison principale pour laquelle ces généalogies sont si détaillées, c’est qu’elles confirment que l’ascendance de Jésus-Christ passait bien par David et Abraham (#Mt 1:1) pour remonter jusqu’à Adam (#Lu 3:38). Elles soulignent ainsi que la royauté de Christ fait partie intégrante du plan divin.
2 le troisième, Absalom, fils de Maaca, fille de Talmaï, roi de Gueschur ; le quatrième, Adonija, fils de Haggith ;
3 le cinquième, Schephatia, d’Abithal ; le sixième, Jithream, d’Egla, sa femme.

Jéconias. Dieu confirma la malédiction, prononcée par Jérémie (#Jér 22: 30), qui voulait qu’aucun descendant de ce roi ne prenne place sur le trône royal. En effet, même si Jéconias (alias Jojakin) figure dans la généalogie de Christ qui remonte à David en passant par son père adoptif Joseph pour souligner la légitimité de ses prétentions royales (#Mt 1:11-12), Jésus ne descendait pas physiquement de lui. D’un point de vue physique, ses droits lui furent transmis par Marie, descendante de David à travers son fils Nathan, et non à travers Salomon (cf. #Lu 3:31).

21 Fils de Hanania : Pélathia et Esaïe ; les fils de Rephaja, les fils d’Arnan, les fils d’Abdias, les fils de Schecania.
22 Fils de Schecania : Schemaeja. Fils de Schemaeja : Hattusch, Jigueal, Bariach, Nearia et Schaphath, six.

David. The main reason why these genealogies are so detailed is that they confirm that the ascendancy of Jesus Christ passed through David and Abraham (#Mt 1: 1) to ascend to Adam (#Lu 3: 38). They emphasize that the kingship of Christ is an integral part of the divine plan.
2 The third was Absalom the son of Maachah, the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur. The fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

Jeconiah. God confirmed the curse, pronounced by Jeremiah (Jeremiah 22:30), that no descendant of this king should take his place on the royal throne. Indeed, even if Jeconias (aka Jojakin) is included in the genealogy of Christ who goes back to David through his adoptive father Joseph to emphasize the legitimacy of his royal pretensions (#Mt 1: 11-12), Jesus did not descend physically from him. From a physical point of view, her rights were transmitted to her by Mary, descendant of David through her son Nathan, and not through Solomon (cf. #Lu 3:31).
