9 ¶ Je regardai, pendant que l’on plaçait des trônes. Et l’ancien des jours s’assit. Son vêtement était blanc comme la neige, et les cheveux de sa tête étaient comme de la laine pure ; son trône était comme des flammes de feu, et les roues comme un feu ardent.
10 Un fleuve de feu coulait et sortait de devant lui. Mille milliers le servaient, et dix mille millions se tenaient en sa présence. Les juges s’assirent, et les livres furent ouverts.
11 Je regardai alors, à cause des paroles arrogantes que prononçait la corne ; et tandis que je regardais, l’animal fut tué, et son corps fut anéanti, livré au feu pour être brûlé.
12 Les autres animaux furent dépouillés de leur puissance, mais une prolongation de vie leur fut accordée jusqu’à un certain temps.
13 Je regardai pendant mes visions nocturnes, et voici, sur les nuées des cieux arriva quelqu’un de semblable à un fils de l’homme ; il s’avança vers l’ancien des jours, et on le fit approcher de lui.
14 On lui donna la domination, la gloire et le règne ; et tous les peuples, les nations, et les hommes de toutes langues le servirent. Sa domination est une domination éternelle qui ne passera point, et son règne ne sera jamais détruit.
15 ¶ Moi, Daniel, j’eus l’esprit troublé au dedans de moi, et les visions de ma tête m’effrayèrent.

7:9-10
Je regardai. La vision de Daniel porte loin en avant, jusqu’au trône divin d’où le châtiment s’abattra contre le quatrième royaume (cf. #Ap 20:11-15).
7:11-12
l’animal fut tué. Allusion à la quatrième bête (c’est-à-dire la domination romaine), dirigée par la « petite corne », c’est-à-dire l’Antéchrist (vv. #Da 7:7-24), qui sera vaincu lors de la seconde venue de Christ (cf. #Ap 19: 20 ; #Ap 20: 10); cf. l’effondrement causé par la « pierre » en #Da 2:35, #Da 2:45.
7:12
Les autres animaux. C’est-à-dire les trois animaux précédents, les Empires des ch. #Da 2 ; 7. Chacun à leur tour, ils perdirent leur prééminence lorsqu’ils furent conquis. Cependant, chacun d’eux fut intégré à l’Empire qui avait pris l’ascendant sur lui, et ils survécurent par leur descendance. A l’approche de la seconde venue de Christ, ces trois Empires feront, par le truchement de leurs descendants, partie de la phase de domination romaine dans sa forme ultime (#Ap 13: 2). Aucune survie ne sera possible pour le quatrième Empire ressuscité après le retour de Christ, car il sera totalement dévasté et détruit (cf. #Da 2:35), et il sera remplacé par le royaume de Christ.
7:13-14
fils de l’homme. Allusion au Messie (cf. #Da 9:26), à Christ; lui-même se désigna souvent par cette expression (#Mt 16: 27 ; #Mt 19: 28 ; #Mt 26: 64). Les « nuées » réapparaissent en #Ap 1:7. Le Messie se distingue ici de « l’Ancien des jours », l’Éternel ou le Père, qui le couronne pour l’établir sur son royaume (#Da 2:44). L’image de la vieillesse n’évoque pas la faiblesse ici, mais l’éternité et la sagesse divine, capable de porter de légitimes jugements (cf. vv. #Da 7:9-10).
7:14
tous les peuples, les nations … toutes langues. Ce sont des distinctions purement terrestres qui annoncent un royaume terrestre, gouverné par Christ, destiné à se fondre ensuite dans le royaume éternel (cf. vv. #Da 7:18, #Da 7:27 ; #Ap 20: 1-4 ; #Ap 21: 1-22:@).
7:15
l’esprit troublé. Le jugement annoncé attristait Daniel, parce qu’il signifiait que jusqu’à la fin, l’histoire serait caractérisée par le péché et son châtiment (cf. v. #Da 7:28).

¶ 9 I beheld till thrones were placed . And the Ancient of days did sit . His garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool ; his throne was like the fiery flame , and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him. Thousand thousands ministered unto him , and ten thousand stood before his presence. The judgment was set, and the books were opened .
11 I beheld then because of the great words which the horn spoke ; and as I watched , the beast was slain , and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame .
The other 12 animals were stripped of their power, but an extension of life was granted to them for a little while .
13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man ; he came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 He was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, and all peoples , nations and men of every language worshiped him . His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away , and his kingdom will never be destroyed .
¶ 15 I Daniel was grieved in spirit I within me , and the visions of my head troubled me .

7:9-10
I looked . Daniel's vision carries far forward, to divine throne where the punishment will fall against the fourth kingdom (cf. Rev 20:11-15 # ) .
7:11-12
the animal was killed. Referring to the fourth beast (that is to say, the Roman domination) , led by the "little horn" , that is to say the Antichrist (vv. # Da 7:7-24 ), which will defeated in the Second Coming of Christ (cf. Rev # 19: 20 , # Rev 20: 10); cf . collapse caused by the "stone" in # Da 2:35 , # Da 2:45 .
7:12
Other animals. That is to say, the previous three animals, Empires of c. # 2 Da ; Each in turn 7 . They lost their prominence when they were conquered . However, each was incorporated into the Empire who had taken an advantage over him, and they survived by their descendants. As we approach the second coming of Christ , these three Empires will , through their descendants , part of phase Roman rule in its final form (# Rev 13 : 2). No survival will be possible for the fourth resurrected after the return of Christ Empire , because it will be completely devastated and destroyed (see # Da 2:35 ) , and will be replaced by the Kingdom of Christ.
7:13-14
son of man. Referring to the Messiah (cf. # Da 9:26 ) , Christ ; himself often pointed to by the expression ( # Mt 16 : 27; # Mt 19: 28; # Mt 26: 64). The "clouds " reappear # Rev 1:7 . The Messiah is distinguished by the " Ancient of Days " or the Lord the Father , who the crown to establish his kingdom (# Da 2:44 ) . The image of old age does not mention the weakness here, but eternity and divine wisdom, capable of carrying legitimate judgments (cf. vv. # Da 7:9-10 ) .
7:14
all peoples, nations ... all languages. They are purely earthly distinctions announcing an earthly kingdom ruled by Christ, for then melt into the eternal kingdom (cf. vv # Da 7:18 , # Da 7:27 ; # 20 Ap . 1-4 ; # Rev 21: 1-22 : @ ) .
7:15
troubled mind . The judgment announced Daniel sad , because it meant until the end , the story would be characterized by sin and its punishment (cf. c. # Da 7:28 ) .
