ÉZÉKIEL 10 : 1-2-3 ***
1 ¶ Je regardai, et voici, sur le ciel qui était au-dessus de la tête des chérubins, il y avait comme une pierre de saphir ; on voyait au-dessus d’eux quelque chose de semblable à une forme de trône.
2 Et l’Eternel dit à l’homme vêtu de lin : Va entre les roues sous les chérubins, remplis tes mains de charbons ardents que tu prendras entre les chérubins, et répands-les sur la ville ! Et il y alla devant mes yeux.
3 Les chérubins étaient à la droite de la maison, quand l’homme alla, et la nuée remplit le parvis intérieur.

trône. Ce trône se dressait au-dessus des serviteurs angéliques, les quatre anges du ch. #Ez 1 (#Ez 10:20, #Ez 10:22), et il s’agissait du trône de 1:26-28, sur lequel Dieu siégeait (cf. #Ez 10:20). C’était de là que Dieu dirigeait les opérations de sa machine de guerre (« roues », voir les notes sur 1:15-16 {==> "Ez 1:15"}) contre Jérusalem (v. #Ez 10:2). Le « saphir » brillant évoquait la gloire et la sainteté de Dieu (#Ez 11:22).

remplis … charbons ardents. Dieu spécifia que l’ange chargé de marquer les élus (#Ez 9:2, #Ez 9:4, #Ez 9:11) devait plonger les mains dans la machine de guerre pour, en présence des anges du ch. #Ez 1, en retirer des charbons ardents. Ces braises représentent les charbons ardents du jugement que les anges de Dieu doivent répandre sur Jérusalem. En #Esa 6, les « charbons » servaient à la purification du prophète; ici, ils servent à anéantir les méchants (cf. #Hé 12:29). Jérusalem fut effectivement détruite par le feu en 586 av. J.-C.

chérubins. C’étaient des chérubins différents de ceux du ch. #Ez 1 et de ceux du v. 4 de ce ch.

1 ¶ And I looked, and behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim there was like a sapphire stone, something shaped like a throne was seen above them.
2 And the LORD said to the man clothed in linen, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubim , and scatter them over the city! And he went in in my sight.
3 Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went , and the cloud filled the inner court .

throne. The throne stood above the angelic servants the four angels c. # 1 Ez ( Ez 10:20 # , # Eze 10:22 ) , and it was the throne 1:26-28 , where God sat (see # Ez 10:20) . It was there that God directed the operations of its war machine ( "wheels" , see notes on 1:15-16 { == > " Ez 1:15 "}) against Jerusalem (v. # Ez 10: 2 ) . The brilliant " sapphire " evoked the glory and holiness of God ( Ez 11:22 # ) .

filled ... coals . God specified that the angel in charge of marking elected (# Ez 9:2 , Ezekiel 9:4 # , # Eze 9:11 ) would plunge their hands into the machine of war , in the presence of the angels of c. Ez # 1 , remove coals . These coals are coals of judgment that the angels of God are spread over Jerusalem. Esa # 6 in the " coals " were used for purification of the prophet , here they serve to destroy the wicked (cf. # Hey 24:29 ) . Jerusalem was indeed destroyed by fire in 586 BC . AD

cherubim . They were different from those of the cherubim c. Ez # 1 and those of v . 4 of this ch .
