ÉZÉKIEL 17 : 22-23-24 ***
22 ¶ Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : J’enlèverai, moi, la cime d’un grand cèdre, et je la placerai ; j’arracherai du sommet de ses branches un tendre rameau, et je le planterai sur une montagne haute et élevée.
23 Je le planterai sur une haute montagne d’Israël ; il produira des branches et portera du fruit, il deviendra un cèdre magnifique. Les oiseaux de toute espèce reposeront sous lui, tout ce qui a des ailes reposera sous l’ombre de ses rameaux.
24 Et tous les arbres des champs sauront que moi, l’Eternel, j’ai abaissé l’arbre qui s’élevait et élevé l’arbre qui était abaissé, que j’ai desséché l’arbre vert et fait verdir l’arbre sec. Moi, l’Eternel, j’ai parlé, et j’agirai.

17:22-23
la cime d’un grand cèdre. Prophétie messianique annonçant que Dieu susciterait le Messie dans la lignée royale de David (le « grand cèdre ») et l’établirait dans son royaume (comme une montagne, cf. #Da 2:35, #Da 2:44-45). Ce serait une « cime » dont le règne connaîtrait le summum de la réussite. Le terme de « branche » (ou des termes similaires) est une manière de désigner le Messie (cf. #Ez 34:23-24, #Ez 37:24-25 ; #Esa 4:2 ; #Jér 23:5 ; #Jér 33:15 ; #Za 3:8 ; #Za 6:12). Le Messie sera « un tendre rameau » (v. #Ez 17:22) qui se développera pour devenir un « cèdre magnifique » (v. #Ez 17:23). Sous son autorité, toutes les nations seront bénies et Israël restauré.

fait verdir l’arbre sec. Le Messie sortirait de « l’arbre sec » resté après le jugement, c’est-à-dire du reste de Juda. Il prospérerait, bien qu’issu d’une famille modeste de ce reste (cf. #Esa 6:13).

22 ¶ Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar , and will set it , I will cut off the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon a high mountain and high.
23 I will plant it upon a high mountain of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit , and be a goodly cedar. Birds of all kinds under it shall dwell all that has wings rest in the shade of its branches.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the tree that stood high and the tree was down , have dried up the green tree and the tree is green sec. I the LORD have spoken and have done it .

the top of a large cedar . Messianic prophecy announcing that God would raise the Messiah in the royal line of David ( the "big cedar ") and establish his kingdom ( as a mountain, cf. # Da 2:35 , # Da 2:44-45 ) . It would be a " top " whose reign would experience the ultimate success. The term "branch" ( or similar terms ) is a way to designate the Messiah (cf. Ez 34:23-24 # , # Ez 37:24-25 ; # Esa 4:2; Jer 23:5 # ; # Jer 33:15 , Zech 3:8 # , # Zec 6:12 ) . The Messiah will be " tender twig " (v. # Ez 5:22 p.m. ) that will grow to become a " beautiful cedar " (v. # Ez 17:23 ) . Under his leadership , all nations will be blessed and restored Israel .

made the dry tree flourish . The Messiah would come out of the " dry tree " remained after the judgment, that is to say the rest of Judah. It would thrive , although he came from a modest family of the remnant (see # Isa 6:13 ) .
