ÉZÉKIEL 23 : 1 À 10 ***
1 ¶ La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Fils de l’homme, il y avait deux femmes, Filles d’une même mère.
3 Elles se sont prostituées en Egypte, Elles se sont prostituées dans leur jeunesse ; Là leurs mamelles ont été pressées, Là leur sein virginal a été touché.
4 L’aînée s’appelait Ohola, Et sa sœur Oholiba ; Elles étaient à moi, Et elles ont enfanté des fils et des filles. Ohola, c’est Samarie ; Oholiba, c’est Jérusalem.
5 Ohola me fut infidèle ; Elle s’enflamma pour ses amants, Les Assyriens ses voisins,
6 Vêtus d’étoffes teintes en bleu, Gouverneurs et chefs, Tous jeunes et charmants, Cavaliers montés sur des chevaux.
7 Elle s’est prostituée à eux, A toute l’élite des enfants de l’Assyrie ; Elle s’est souillée avec tous ceux pour lesquels elle s’était enflammée, Elle s’est souillée avec toutes leurs idoles.
8 Elle n’a pas renoncé à ses prostitutions d’Egypte : Car ils avaient couché avec elle dans sa jeunesse, Ils avaient touché son sein virginal, Et ils avaient répandu sur elle leurs prostitutions.
9 C’est pourquoi je l’ai livrée entre les mains de ses amants, Entre les mains des enfants de l’Assyrie, Pour lesquels elle s’était enflammée.
10 Ils ont découvert sa nudité, Ils ont pris ses fils et ses filles, Ils l’ont fait périr elle-même avec l’épée ; Elle a été en renom parmi les femmes, Après les jugements exercés sur elle.

deux femmes. A travers deux sœurs, ce ch. décrit l’infidélité spirituelle d’Israël et de Juda, dans le but de souligner la gravité du péché de Juda. La mention d’« une même mère » renvoie à l’époque où le royaume était unifié, et « deux femmes » à celle de l’après-schisme. Oholah signifie « son propre tabernacle » et représente le royaume du nord avec ses lieux de culte particuliers, institués par Jéroboam en dehors du temple de Jérusalem et rejetés par Dieu. Oholibah, littéralement « mon tabernacle est en elle », représente Jérusalem, où Dieu avait établi le culte qui lui était rendu.
23: 5-10
Ohola me fut infidèle. Le royaume du nord était une prostituée au sens spirituel, puisqu’il cherchait à s’unir avec l’Assyrie idolâtre, attirante, riche et jeune pour assurer son développement et sa sécurité. Un jour, celle-ci s’était retournée contre lui (v. #Ez 23: 10), lui avait pris sa terre et l’avait déporté (en 722 av. J.-C., #2R 17).

1 ¶ The word of the LORD came unto me , saying :
2 Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother.
3 They are prostitutes in Egypt, they played the harlot in their youth ; Here were their breasts pressed, and there their virgin bosom was hit.
4 The older was Oholah , and her sister Oholibah They were mine, and they bore son and daughters. Oholah is Samaria ; Oholibah is Jerusalem .
5 Oholah was unfaithful to me , and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,
6 Dressed fabrics dyed blue, governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men , horsemen riding upon horses.
7 She prostitute upon them, the choicest men of Assyria , and she was polluted with all those for whom she doted , and she was polluted with all their idols.
8 She did not give her whoredoms in Egypt : For they had slept with her in her youth, and they handled her virginal womb , and they poured their whoredom upon her .
9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers , into the hand of the Assyrians , upon whom she doted.
10 They uncovered her nakedness , they took her son and daughters, They killed her with the sword , it was a byword among women, after the judgments made on it.

two women. Through two sisters, this ch . describes the spiritual infidelity of Israel and Judah , to underline the seriousness of the sin of Judah. The reference to " one mother " refers to the time when the kingdom was unified , and "two women " to the post- schism. Oholah means "his own tabernacle " and represents the northern kingdom with its special places of worship instituted by Jeroboam outside the temple in Jerusalem and rejected by God . Oholibah , literally " my tabernacle is in her," Jerusalem is where God had established the cult was rendered to him.

Oholah was unfaithful to me . The northern kingdom was a prostitute in a spiritual sense , since sought to unite with Assyria idolater, attractive , young and rich for its development and security. One day , it had turned against him (v. # Ez 23: 10) , had taken his land and had deported ( in 722 BC , # 2R 17. ) .
