ÉZÉKIEL 24 : 15 À 27 ***
15 ¶ La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
16 Fils de l’homme, voici, je t’enlève par une mort soudaine ce qui fait les délices de tes yeux. Tu ne te lamenteras point, tu ne pleureras point, et tes larmes ne couleront pas.
17 Soupire en silence, ne prends pas le deuil des morts, attache ton turban, mets ta chaussure à tes pieds, ne te couvre pas la barbe, et ne mange pas le pain des autres.
18 J’avais parlé au peuple le matin, et ma femme mourut le soir. Le lendemain matin, je fis ce qui m’avait été ordonné.
19 Le peuple me dit : Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas ce que signifie pour nous ce que tu fais ?
20 Je leur répondis : La parole de l’Eternel m’a été adressée, en ces mots:
21 Dis à la maison d’Israël : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Voici, je vais profaner mon sanctuaire, l’orgueil de votre force, les délices de vos yeux, l’objet de votre amour ; et vos fils et vos filles que vous avez laissés tomberont par l’épée.
22 Vous ferez alors comme j’ai fait. Vous ne vous couvrirez pas la barbe, vous ne mangerez pas le pain des autres,
23 vous aurez vos turbans sur la tête et vos chaussures aux pieds, vous ne vous lamenterez pas et vous ne pleurerez pas ; mais vous serez frappés de langueur pour vos iniquités, et vous gémirez entre vous.
24 (24-23) Ezéchiel sera pour vous un signe. (24-24) Vous ferez entièrement comme il a fait. Et quand ces choses arriveront, vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, l’Eternel.
25 Et toi, fils de l’homme, le jour où je leur enlèverai ce qui fait leur force, leur joie et leur gloire, les délices de leurs yeux et l’objet de leur amour, leurs fils et leurs filles,
26 ce jour-là un fuyard viendra vers toi pour l’annoncer à tes oreilles.
27 En ce jour, ta bouche s’ouvrira avec le fuyard, et tu parleras, tu ne seras plus muet ; tu seras pour eux un signe, et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel.

24: 16-27
La mort de l’épouse d’Ezéchiel constituait un signe pour Israël: toute tristesse individuelle était éclipsée par le fléau qui touchait le peuple tout entier. Tout comme Ezéchiel ne devait pas porter le deuil de son épouse (v. #Ez 24: 17), Juda n’était pas censé pleurer la perte de ses familles (vv. #Ez 24: 19-24). Le texte souligne combien cette femme était chérie du prophète « délice de tes yeux » (vv. #Ez 24: 16, #Ez 24: 21), « orgueil », « objet de l’amour » (v. #Ez 24: 21) - mais celui-ci obéit à l’interdiction divine. Il devint ainsi un signe déchirant pour ses concitoyens.
24: 25
le jour où. C’est-à-dire le jour de la destruction du temple.
24: 26-27
ce jour-là. L’un de ceux qui échapperaient à la destruction de Jérusalem (586 av. J.-C.) viendrait trouver Ezéchiel à Babylone pour lui en faire le récit. Jusque-là, il devrait garder le silence, mais à l’arrivée des captifs il pourrait à nouveau parler de Juda (cf. #Ez 3:26-27). Durant cette période d’environ deux ans (cf. #Ez 33:21 ; #Jér 52:5-7), il était inutile d’avertir de l’imminence du châtiment, puisqu’il frappait déjà. En revanche, le prophète ne se priva pas de parler des autres nations (dès le ch. #Ez 25).

15 ¶ The word of the LORD came unto me , saying :
16 Son of man, behold, I have taken away by sudden death which is the delight of your eyes . You do mourn , thou shalt not weep point and neither shall thy tears run down.
17 Sigh in silence , make no mourning for the dead , bind your turban, put your shoes on your feet, do not cover your lips, and eat not the bread of men .
18 I spoke to the people in the morning , and my wife died . The next morning I did as I was commanded .
19 The people said to me: Do not you explain to us what it means to us what are you doing?
20 I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me , saying :
21 Speak unto the house of Israel , Thus saith the Lord GOD : Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, the object of your love, and your son and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
22 You shall do as I did. You do not cover your lips , nor eat the bread of others,
23 you will get your turbans on their heads and your shoes on your feet, you do not mourn you and you will not cry , but you will be amazed of your iniquities , and you shall mourn you.
24 ( 24-23 ) Ezekiel will be a sign for you . (24-24 ) You will fully as he did . And when these things happen, you know that I am the Lord Jehovah .
25 And thou, son of man, the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes and the object of their love, their son and their daughters,
26 that day a fugitive will come to you to announce your ears .
27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to the fugitive , and speak , you will no longer be silent thou shalt be a sign to them , and they shall know that I am the LORD.

24: 16-27
The death of Ezekiel 's wife was a sign to Israel any individual sadness was overshadowed by the scourge that affected the entire nation . Just as Ezekiel was not to mourn his wife (v. # Ez 24: 17) , Judah was not supposed to mourn the loss of his family (vv. # Ez 24: 19-24) . The text emphasizes how this woman was beloved prophet " delight your eyes" (vv. # Ez 24 : 16, # Ez 24: 21 ), " pride ", " object of love " (v. # Ez 24: 21) - but he obeyed the divine prohibition. He became a heartbreaking sign for his fellow citizens.
24: 25
the day . That is to say, the day of the destruction of the temple.
24 : 26-27
that day . One of those who escape the destruction of Jerusalem ( 586 BC.) Would find Ezekiel in Babylon to him tell the story . Until then , he should remain silent, but the arrival of the captives he could speak again of Judah (cf. Ez # 3:26-27 ) . During this period of about two years ( cf. Ez 33:21 # , # Jer 52:5-7 ) , it was unnecessary to warn of impending punishment, since he already beat . However, the prophet did not hesitate to speak of other nations (from Ch. # Ez 25).
