ÉZÉKIEL 28 : 11 À 19 ***
11 ¶ La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
12 Fils de l’homme, Prononce une complainte sur le roi de Tyr ! Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Tu mettais le sceau à la perfection, Tu étais plein de sagesse, parfait en beauté.
13 Tu étais en Eden, le jardin de Dieu ; Tu étais couvert de toute espèce de pierres précieuses, De sardoine, de topaze, de diamant, De chrysolithe, d’onyx, de jaspe, De saphir, d’escarboucle, d’émeraude, et d’or ; Tes tambourins et tes flûtes étaient à ton service, Préparés pour le jour où tu fus créé.
14 Tu étais un chérubin protecteur, aux ailes déployées ; Je t’avais placé et tu étais sur la sainte montagne de Dieu ; Tu marchais au milieu des pierres étincelantes.
15 Tu as été intègre dans tes voies, Depuis le jour où tu fus créé Jusqu’à celui où l’iniquité a été trouvée chez toi.
16 Par la grandeur de ton commerce Tu as été rempli de violence, et tu as péché ; Je te précipite de la montagne de Dieu, Et je te fais disparaître, chérubin protecteur, Du milieu des pierres étincelantes.
17 Ton cœur s’est élevé à cause de ta beauté, Tu as corrompu ta sagesse par ton éclat ; Je te jette par terre, Je te livre en spectacle aux rois.
18 Par la multitude de tes iniquités, Par l’injustice de ton commerce, Tu as profané tes sanctuaires ; Je fais sortir du milieu de toi un feu qui te dévore, Je te réduis en cendre sur la terre, Aux yeux de tous ceux qui te regardent.
19 Tous ceux qui te connaissent parmi les peuples Sont dans la stupeur à cause de toi ; Tu es réduit au néant, tu ne seras plus à jamais !

28:11-19 Cette complainte sur le « roi de Tyr » évoque, par delà la source réelle de la méchanceté, sa source surnaturelle: le diable. Cf. #Mt 16:21-23, où Pierre fut réprimandé par le Seigneur comme étant contrôlé et animé par Satan.
28:12
le sceau à la perfection. Le Seigneur conduisit Ezéchiel à s’adresser au roi comme si c’était lui qu’il allait juger, mais il était clair que la puissance à l’œuvre derrière lui était Satan. Celui-ci était d’une beauté angélique parfaite avant sa rébellion contre Dieu. Mais « perfection » peut aussi convenir au contexte de Tyr, avec son rôle prééminent dans le commerce du monde antique (#Ez 27:3-4, #Ez 27:11), son succès dans les entreprises maritimes (#Ez 27:24) et son statut de « dispensatrice des couronnes » (#Esa 23: 8). Elle était aussi parfaite que Jérusalem pouvait l’être (#Ez 16: 14 ; #La 2:15).
plein de sagesse. Allusion d’une part à la sagesse de Satan quand il était encore un ange, et d’autre part aux compétences de Tyr dans le domaine commercial (cf. #Ez 27:8-9 ; #Ez 28:4).
28:13
Tu étais en Eden. Il pourrait s’agir de Satan dans le jardin d’Eden (#Ge 3:1-15) ou du roi de Tyr dans son environnement magnifique, pareil à Eden.
pierres précieuses. Cela décrit le contexte dans lequel opéra Satan (#Ge 2:12) et/ou l’abondance des pierres précieuses possédées par le roi de Tyr, à l’instar de Salomon (#1R 10:10).
tambourins … à ton service. Allusion possible à Satan, chargé d’organiser la louange céleste, ou aux merveilleux instruments de musique utilisés pendant les fêtes à Tyr (#Ez 26:13).
tu fus créé. La sagesse, la richesse, la sagesse et la perfection évoquées correspondent mieux à ce dont jouit Satan lorsqu’il fut créé qu’aux biens possédés par le roi terrestre à sa naissance.
28:14
chérubin protecteur. Description du grand privilège de Satan en tant qu’ange chargé de garder le trône de Dieu, tout comme les chérubins chargés de garder Eden (#Ge 3:24). Au départ, il avait donc un accès illimité à la glorieuse présence de Dieu.
je t’avais placé. Cela était vrai autant de Satan, par la permission souveraine de Dieu, que du roi de Tyr.
tu étais sur la sainte montagne. Il s’agit ici d’un très grand privilège, qu’il s’agisse de la position de Satan devant Dieu dans son royaume (montagne, cf. #Da 2:35) ou du monarque de Tyr, décrit ainsi par analogie tout comme l’Assyrie peut être comparée à un cèdre du Liban (#Ez 31:3) - afin de suggérer une élévation impressionnante.
28:15
intègre dans tes voies. Ce v. ne convient pas réellement pour le roi, mais il était parfaitement vrai dans le cas de Satan avant qu’il ne pèche.
l’iniquité a été trouvée chez toi. C’est le péché d’orgueil de Satan qui est en vue ici (cf. #Esa 14: 14 ; #1Ti 3:6).
28:16 Transition qui amène le texte à se consacrer au roi de Tyr et à l’évocation de sa mort, lorsqu’il prit le même chemin que Satan.
28:17-19
je te livre en spectacle aux rois. Il est difficile d’appliquer cela à Satan. Le roi de Tyr, sur terre, serait renversé, jeté à terre, frappé à mort et laissé en spectacle devant les autres rois. #Esa 23: 17 implique une certaine renaissance sous la domination perse (#Né 13: 16). Quelque 250 ans après l’assaut de Nebucadnetsar, Tyr fut assez puissante pour résister à Alexandre le Grand pendant sept ans. Les Romains en firent une capitale de province. Elle s’affaiblit progressivement, et c’est de nos jours une localité de moindre importance.

12 Son of man , take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus Say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD : You used the seal of perfection , You were full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty .
13 You were in Eden , the garden of God was thy covering all kinds of gemstones, carnelian , topaz, and the diamond, the beryl , the onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald and gold : thy timbrels and of thy pipes was your service, prepared for the day that thou wast created .
14 You were the anointed cherub who wings I have set thee so : thou wast upon the holy mountain of God ; You walked among the fiery stones .
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee .
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee to the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee , O covering cherub , from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I'll book a show kings .
18 By the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic, thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries I'm out of the midst of thee a fire devour thee, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who look at you .
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee : thou art become a terror , you will not be forever!

28:11-19 This lament the " king of Tyre " evokes , beyond the real source of the evil , the supernatural source : the devil. Cf. Mt 16:21-23 # , where Peter was rebuked by the Lord as being controlled and run by Satan.
28:12
the seal of perfection . The Lord led Ezekiel to speak to the king as if he was he would try , but it was clear that the power at work behind him was Satan. This was a perfect angelic beauty before his rebellion against God. But " perfection " can also fit the context of Tyre , with its prominent role in the commerce of the ancient world (# Ez 27:3-4 , # Ez 27:11 ) , its success in maritime enterprises ( Ez 27:24 # ) and its status as a " dispenser of crowns" (# Isa 23: 8). It was as perfect as could be Jerusalem (# Ez 16: 14; # The 2:15 ) .
full of wisdom . Referring firstly to the wisdom of Satan when he was still an angel, and other skills of Tyre in the commercial sphere (cf. Ez 27:8-9 # , # Ez 28:4 ) .
28:13
You were in Eden . It could be Satan in the Garden of Eden (# Ge 3:1-15 ) or the king of Tyre in his magnificent , like Eden environment.
gemstones. This describes the context in which opera Satan (# Ge 2:12 ) and / or abundance of precious stones owned by the king of Tyre , like Solomon (# 1R 10:10).
tambourines ... at your service. Possible allusion to Satan, responsible for organizing the heavenly praise, or wonderful musical instruments used during the holidays to Tyr ( # Ez 26:13 ) .
thou wast created . Wisdom , wealth, wisdom and perfection mentioned better reflect what has Satan when it was created as property owned by the earthly king at his birth.
28:14
covering cherub . Description privilege of Satan as an angel in charge of guarding the throne of God, just as the cherubim guarding Eden (# Ge 3:24 ) . Initially, therefore he had unlimited access to the glory of God.
I have set thee . This was as true of Satan, by the sovereign permission of God, the king of Tyre.
thou wast upon the holy mountain . This is a great privilege , whether the position of Satan to God in his kingdom (mountain, cf. # Da 2:35 ) or the monarch of Tyre , described by analogy all as Assyria can be compared to a cedar of Lebanon (# Ez 31:3 ) - to suggest an impressive elevation.
28:15
perfect in thy ways . This v . not really suitable for the king, but it was perfectly true in the case of Satan before he sins .
iniquity was found in thee . This is the sin of pride of Satan that is in view here (cf. Isaiah # 14: 14; # 1Ti 3:6).
28:16 Transition brings the text to devote himself to the king of Tyre and the evocation of his death, when he took the same path as Satan.
28:17-19
I'll book a show kings . It is difficult to apply this to Satan. The king of Tyre , on earth, would be overthrown , thrown down, beaten to death and left to show the other kings . Esa # 23: 17 implies a renaissance under Persian rule (# 13 Born : 16). Some 250 years after the attack of Nebuchadnezzar , Tyre was powerful enough to withstand Alexander the Great for seven years. The Romans made a provincial capital . It gradually weakens , and it is today a place of lesser importance.
