ÉZÉKIEL 3: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 ***
1 ¶ Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, mange ce que tu trouves, mange ce rouleau, et va, parle à la maison d’Israël !
2 J’ouvris la bouche, et il me fit manger ce rouleau.
3 Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, nourris ton ventre et remplis tes entrailles de ce rouleau que je te donne ! Je le mangeai, et il fut dans ma bouche doux comme du miel.
4 Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, va vers la maison d’Israël, et dis-leur mes paroles !
5 Car ce n’est point vers un peuple ayant un langage obscur, une langue inintelligible, que tu es envoyé ; c’est à la maison d’Israël.
6 Ce n’est point vers de nombreux peuples ayant un langage obscur, une langue inintelligible, dont tu ne comprends pas les discours. Si je t’envoyais vers eux, ils t’écouteraient.
7 Mais la maison d’Israël ne voudra pas t’écouter, parce qu’elle ne veut pas m’écouter ; car toute la maison d’Israël a le front dur et le cœur endurci.
8 Voici, j’endurcirai ta face, pour que tu l’opposes à leur face ; j’endurcirai ton front, pour que tu l’opposes à leur front.
9 Je rendrai ton front comme un diamant, plus dur que le roc. Ne les crains pas, quoiqu’ils soient une famille de rebelles.

mange ce rouleau … Je le mangeai. Le messager de Dieu doit commencer par intérioriser la vérité divine et se l’appliquer à lui-même, avant de la proclamer.
comme du miel. Même s’il contenait un message de jugement contre Juda, le rouleau était « doux » parce qu’il s’agissait de la Parole de Dieu (cf. #Ps 19:11 ; #Ps 119:103) et qu’il mettait en relief la sainteté, la justice, la gloire et la fidélité divines, qui faisaient, de façon similaire, la joie de Jérémie (#Jér 15:16). Toutefois, Ezéchiel expérimenterait aussi l’amertume (#Ez 3:14) de ce message de jugement lorsqu’il serait confronté à l’esprit de rébellion de Juda (v. #Ez 3:9). L’apôtre Jean se ferait l’écho d’un mélange doux-amer similaire en rapport avec la Parole de Dieu (#Ap 10:9-10).

j’endurcirai ta face. Ce que Dieu ordonne (« ne les crains pas »), il donne la capacité de le faire (« j’endurcirai »). Il rendrait Ezéchiel capable de vivre ce que son nom signifiait (« fortifié par Dieu »). Cf. #Ez 2:2, #Ez 3:14, #Ez 3:24 ; #Esa 41:10 ; #Jér 1:8, #Jér 1:17.
rebelles. Malheureusement, l’exil et la souffrance n’avaient pas rendu les Juifs mieux disposés envers Dieu; au contraire, leurs épreuves les endurcissaient. Dieu « endurcit » Ezéchiel pour le rendre capable de résister aux pressions, dans son ministère prophétique auprès des exilés.
EZEKIEL 3: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 ***
1 ¶ He said to me : Son of man, eat what you find , eat this roll , and go speak unto the house of Israel !
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3 He said to me : Son of man , thy belly to eat , and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee ! I ate it , and it was in my mouth sweet as honey.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go to the house of Israel , and say unto them my words !
5 For it is only to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language , you are sent, it is the house of Israel .
6 This is not to many peoples of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words you can not understand speech. If I sent you to them , they'll listen.
7 But the house of Israel will not listen to you , because she will not listen to me : for all the house of Israel are impudent and hard hardened heart .
8 Behold, I will harden thy face , that thou against their faces , I will harden your face , that thou against their foreheads .
9 I will make your forehead like an adamant harder than flint . Do not fear, for they are a rebellious house .

eat this scroll ... I ate . The messenger of God must begin to internalize God's truth and apply it to himself, before the proclamation .
as honey. Even though it contains a message of judgment against Judah, the roll was "soft" because it was the Word of God (cf. Ps 7:11 p.m. # , # Ps 119:103 ) and he put relief holiness , justice, glory and divine fidelity , which were so similar , the joy of Jeremiah ( Jer 3:16 p.m. # ) . However , Ezekiel also would experiment bitterness (# Ez 3:14 ) of this message of judgment when he would face the rebellion of Judah (v. # Ez 3:9). The Apostle John would echo a similar bittersweet mixture in relation to the Word of God (# Ap 10:9-10 ) .

I will harden your face . What God commands (" do not fear ") , it gives the ability to do so (" I will harden "). It would Ezekiel able to live what the name meant (" strengthened by God") . See # Ez 2:2 , Ezekiel 3:14 # , # Ez 3:24 ; # Isa 41:10 , Jer 1:8 # , # Jer 1:17 .

hardened " Ezekiel to make it able to withstand the pressures in his prophetic ministry to the exiles.
