ÉZÉKIEL 4: 4-5-6 ***
4 Puis couche-toi sur le côté gauche, mets-y l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël, et tu porteras leur iniquité autant de jours que tu seras couché sur ce côté.
5 Je te compterai un nombre de jours égal à celui des années de leur iniquité, trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours ; tu porteras ainsi l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël.
6 Quand tu auras achevé ces jours, couche-toi sur le côté droit, et tu porteras l’iniquité de la maison de Juda pendant quarante jours ; je t’impose un jour pour chaque année.

couche-toi sur le côté gauche … sur le côté droit. Le fait de se coucher sur le côté gauche amenait probablement Ezéchiel à faire face au nord, ce qui illustrait le jugement divin sur Israël, et le côté droit à se tourner vers le sud, ce qui visait Juda. Il n’est pas nécessaire de supposer qu’il restait sans cesse allongé: il le faisait sans doute une partie de la journée, comme l’indique la nécessité de préparer de la nourriture (v. #Ez 4:9).
4:4, 6
tu porteras leur iniquité. L’acte d’Ezéchiel ne visait pas à représenter la période de péché d’Israël, mais la durée de son châtiment.
4:5
trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours. Chaque jour représentait une année (v. #Ez 4:6). Pendant tout ce temps, dont le début et la fin restent incertains, l’Israël du nord devait répondre de ses actes.
4:6
quarante jours. Le chiffre de « quarante » ne peut signifier que la culpabilité de Juda était moindre (cf. #Ez 23:11). Il peut s’ajouter aux 390 pour faire un total de 430 ou être concomitant, mais la situation dans le temps reste incertaine.

4 Then lie on your left side , and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel, and thou shalt bear their iniquity as many days as you lie down on this side.
5 I will be counting the number of days equal to the years of their iniquity , three hundred and ninety days , and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6 When you have completed them, lie again on thy right side , and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

lie on the left side ... on the right side . The fact lie on the left side probably brought Ezekiel to face north , which illustrated the divine judgment on Israel , and the right to turn to the south, which was Judah. It is not necessary to assume that remained constantly lying : he was probably a part of the day , as indicated by the need to prepare food (see # Ez 4:9 ) .
4:4 , 6
you shall bear their iniquity. The act of Ezekiel was not intended to represent the period of Israel's sin, but the duration of his punishment.
4:5
three hundred and ninety days . Each day represents one year ( see # Ez 4:6). During this time , the beginning and the end are uncertain , northern Israel was liable for his actions.
4:6
forty days. The figure of "forty " can not mean that the guilt of Judah was lower ( cf. Ez 11:11 p.m. # ) . It can be added to 390 to make a total of 430 or be concurrent , but the situation remains uncertain time .
