ÉZÉKIEL 47 : 1 À 12 ***
1 ¶ Il me ramena vers la porte de la maison. Et voici, de l’eau sortait sous le seuil de la maison, à l’orient, car la face de la maison était à l’orient ; l’eau descendait sous le côté droit de la maison, au midi de l’autel.
2 Il me conduisit par le chemin de la porte septentrionale, et il me fit faire le tour par dehors jusqu’à l’extérieur de la porte orientale. Et voici, l’eau coulait du côté droit.
3 Lorsque l’homme s’avança vers l’orient, il avait dans la main un cordeau, et il mesura mille coudées ; il me fit traverser l’eau, et j’avais de l’eau jusqu’aux chevilles.

7 Quand il m’eut ramené, voici, il y avait sur le bord du torrent beaucoup d’arbres de chaque côté.
8 Il me dit : Cette eau coulera vers le district oriental, descendra dans la plaine, et entrera dans la mer ; lorsqu’elle se sera jetée dans la mer, les eaux de la mer deviendront saines.
9 Tout être vivant qui se meut vivra partout où le torrent coulera, et il y aura une grande quantité de poissons ; car là où cette eau arrivera, les eaux deviendront saines, et tout vivra partout où parviendra le torrent.
10 Des pêcheurs se tiendront sur ses bords ; depuis En-Guédi jusqu’à En-Eglaïm, on étendra les filets ; il y aura des poissons de diverses espèces, comme les poissons de la grande mer, et ils seront très nombreux.
11 Ses marais et ses fosses ne seront point assainis, ils seront abandonnés au sel.
12 Sur le torrent, sur ses bords de chaque côté, croîtront toutes sortes d’arbres fruitiers. Leur feuillage ne se flétrira point, et leurs fruits n’auront point de fin, ils mûriront tous les mois, parce que les eaux sortiront du sanctuaire. Leurs fruits serviront de nourriture, et leurs feuilles de remède.

47:1-12 Cette section souligne un thème majeur chez les prophètes: les étonnantes modifications physiques et géographiques qui interviendront sur la terre, et surtout en Israël, dans le millénium. Ce ch. traite plus spécifiquement des changements en rapport avec l’eau.
47:1-2
l’eau … à l’orient. Un fleuve d’eau vive coule de dessous le temple (cf. #Joe 3:18), passe à l’est du Jourdain et descend ensuite vers le sud pour déboucher sur la mer Morte (vv. #Ez 47:7-8). D’après #Za 14: 8, de sa source (à Jérusalem), il s’écoule vers l’ouest (vers la mer Méditerranée) autant que vers l’est (vers la mer Morte). Son origine coïncide avec le retour de Christ sur le mont des Oliviers (cf. #Za 14: 4 ; #Ac 1:11), qui provoquera un tremblement de terre d’une amplitude telle qu’une vallée orientée est-ouest se creusera jusqu’à Jérusalem, permettant à l’eau de couler. 47:3-5
il mesura. L’ange qui escortait Ezéchiel voulut lui révéler l’importance de ce fleuve. Il l’emmena donc, en vision, à quatre endroits plus ou moins éloignés de Jérusalem, où il put constater que le fleuve était de plus en plus profond, jusqu’à ce qu’il n’ait plus pied. Cf. #Esa 35:1-7 où le prophète s’exclame: « La solitude … fleurira comme un narcisse. »
47:7
beaucoup d’arbres. Une végétation luxuriante poussera grâce au fleuve.
47:8
les eaux de la mer deviendront saines. Le fleuve s’écoulera vers l’est puis vers le sud, pour se jeter dans la mer Morte et en assainir l’eau, incapable jusque-là d’accueillir la vie à cause de son importante densité en minéraux (elle est plus de 6 fois plus salée que celle des autres mers). La mer Morte sera transformée en une mer pleine de vie, étant remplie d’eau douce.
47:9
quantité de poissons. Ces poissons sont décrits comme identiques à ceux de la mer Méditerranée (v. #Ez 47:10 « la grande mer »), probablement en termes de volume plutôt que d’espèces, puisque le fleuve et, par suite, la mer Morte contiendront de l’eau douce.
47:10
En-Guédi. Ce site se trouve au milieu de la rive ouest de la mer Morte, près de Masada.
En-Eglaïm. Pt-ê. Ain-Feska près de Qumrân, à l’extrémité nord-ouest de la mer Morte. Certains y voient plutôt un site sur la rive est, ce qui inclurait les pêcheurs des deux rives.
47:11
Ses marais et ses fosses. Ils pourront fournir le sel nécessaire pour les offrandes au temple (cf. #Ez 43:24) et pour la nourriture.
47:12
toutes sortes d’arbres fruitiers. Cf. v. #Ez 47:7. Cette scène décrit les bénédictions du retour à une abondance comparable à celle qui prévalait en Eden (#Ge 2:8-9, #Ge 2:16).
Leur feuillage … leurs fruits. Cf. v. #Ez 47:7. Les fruits servent à la nourriture, et les feuilles font office de plantes médicinales, probablement à but préventif autant que curatif. Les fruits pourront être perpétuels du fait que l’eau douce coulera de façon inépuisable du temple.

1 ¶ He brought me to the door of the house. And, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward , because the front of the house was to the east , and the waters came down from under the right side of the house , south of the altar .
2 He led me by the way of the north gate , and led me around the outside to the outside of the eastern gate . And behold, water was flowing from the right side.
3 When the man went eastward , he had in his hand a cord , and he measured a thousand cubits , and he brought me through the water , and I had water up to the ankles .
4 Again he measured a thousand , and brought me through the water , and I had water up to their knees . Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through , and I had water up to the loins .
5 Again he measured a thousand cubits , and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, it was a river that could not cross.
6 He said: Seest thou , son of man? And he brought me to the edge of the stream.
7 When he had returned, behold , there stood on the edge of the river were very many trees on each side.
8 He said to me : This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the plain, and enter into the sea when it is cast into the sea, the waters of the sea become fresh .
9 Every living thing that moves will live wherever the river goes , and there will be a large amount of fish , because this water goes there , the waters shall be healed , and everything will live wherever the river goes .
10 Fishermen will stand beside the sea from En Gedi to En- eglaim , the spreading of nets ; there will be fish of various kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many .
11 Its swamps and marshes will not be healed , they will be left for salt .
12 On the river , on its banks on each side , shall grow all kinds of trees . Their leaves will not wither , and their fruit shall have no end, they ripen every month, because the water from the sanctuary . Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing .

47:1-12 This section highlights a major theme in the prophets : the amazing physical and geographical changes that will occur on earth, and especially in Israel, in the millennium . This c. deals specifically with changes related to water.
47:1-2
water ... to the east . A river of living water flowing from under the temple (cf. # Joe 3:18 ) , passes to the east of the Jordan and then down south to lead to the Dead Sea (vv. # Ez 47:7-8 ) . According Za # 14: 8 from its source ( in Jerusalem) , it flows to the west ( toward the Mediterranean Sea ) as well as to the east ( to the Dead Sea ) . Its origin coincides with the return of Christ on the Mount of Olives ( cf. Za # 14 : 4; # Ac 1:11 ) , which will cause an earthquake of a magnitude such as east-west valley will widen to Jerusalem , allowing the water to flow. See note on 14:3-4 Za { == > " Za 14:3 "} .

He measured . The angel who escorted Ezekiel wanted to reveal the importance of this river. So he took her in vision, four places more or less distant from Jerusalem, where he could see that the river was deeper and deeper , until he no longer walk . See # Esa 35:1-7 where the prophet exclaims: "Loneliness ... blossom as the rose . "

many trees. Lush vegetation grow through the river.
47:8
the waters of the sea become fresh . The river will flow eastward and southward to empty into the Dead Sea and clean water , unable so far to support life because of its high density minerals ( it is more 6 times more salty than other seas ) . The Dead Sea will be transformed into a sea full of life, is filled with fresh water.
47:9
amount of fish. These fish are described as identical to those of the Mediterranean Sea (see # Ez 47:10 "the great sea" ), probably in terms of volume rather than cash , since the river and , as a result , the Dead Sea contain of fresh water.

En Gedi . This site is located in the middle of the western shore of the Dead Sea, near Masada .
In - eglaim . Pt -ê . Ain Feska near Qumran in the northwest end of the Dead Sea. Some see it as a site on the east bank , which would include fishermen from both sides .
47:11
Marshes and ditches. They will provide the necessary salt for offerings to the temple (cf. Ez 43:24 # ) and for food.
47:12
all kinds of fruit trees. See verse . # Ez 47:7 . This scene describes the blessings of return comparable to that prevailing in Eden ( Ge 2:8-9 # , # Ge 2:16 ) abundance.
Foliage ... fruit. See verse . # Ez 47:7 . The fruits are used for food , and the leaves are used as medicinal plants , probably intended as a preventive than curative. Fruits may be perpetual because the freshwater flow from an inexhaustible way to the temple.
