If I go to the White House, and I say, I know the President, I would like to see the president. Do you think that I have power to meet the President? But if instead you say, the president know, I'd like to see. This has a lot more strength.
Well it's the same with God, it is better that He knows us that we know Him. And the only way to be recognized by God is to follow His commandments. All His commandments. Ignore one, that's all ignore all of His law. You must know that God is important but especially His laws. Satan knows God very much, it was long enough for his side, but he does not respect the laws of God. This is why it is rejected forever. In trying to overcome the want or take His place, he forgot he was a creation of God, therefore lower.
