1 ¶ (47-1) Au chef des chantres. Des fils de Koré. Psaume. (47-2) Vous tous, peuples, battez des mains ! Poussez vers Dieu des cris de joie !
47:1-10
Les principaux concepts du #Ps 47 se développent autour de mots clés et d’expressions, par exemple, « peuples » et « nations » (vv. #Ps 47:2, #Ps 47:4, #Ps 47:8-9); « la terre » et « toute la terre » (vv. #Ps 47:3, #Ps 47:8, #Ps 47:9); « roi » et « régner » (vv. #Ps 47:3, #Ps 47:7-9). Le principal message de ce psaume, c’est que Dieu est le seul souverain au-dessus de tout. D’un point de vue structurel, deux strophes remplies d’adoration célèbrent la royauté universelle de l’Éternel, le Dieu Très-Haut.

3 (47-4) Il nous assujettit des peuples, Il met des nations sous nos pieds ;

4 (47-5) Il nous choisit notre héritage, La gloire de Jacob qu’il aime. — Pause.

la gloire de Jacob qu’il aime. La « gloire » ou « l’orgueil » de Jacob renvoie aussi au pays de Canaan (cf. le terme utilisé comme illustration en #Esa 13: 19 ; puis en #Esa 60:15 ; #Na 2:3 ; etc.). « Qu’il aime » est typique de l’amour divin, particulier et privilégié, pour le peuple élu dans le cadre de l’alliance (cf. p. ex. #Mal 1:2ss). L’accent mis sur l’alliance de Dieu avec Israël ne remet pas en question le tableau plus large, englobant toutes les nations, dessiné dans l’alliance abrahamique en #Ge 12:1-3.
5 ¶ (47-6) Dieu monte au milieu des cris de triomphe, L’Éternel s’avance au son de la trompette.
Dieu monte au milieu des cris. Image de la présence de Dieu: après avoir livré bataille avec son peuple, il effectuait son ascension victorieuse en direction de sa résidence « immanente » sur la montagne de Sion et de sa résidence « transcendante » dans les cieux. Cette procession de l’arche de l’alliance était accompagnée de grands cris et de bruits de célébration (vv. #Ps 47:6-7).
6 (47-7) Chantez à Dieu, chantez ! Chantez à notre roi, chantez !
7 (47-8) Car Dieu est roi de toute la terre: Chantez un cantique !
8 (47-9) Dieu règne sur les nations, Dieu a pour siège son saint trône.
9 (47-10) Les princes des peuples se réunissent Au peuple du Dieu d’Abraham ; Car à Dieu sont les boucliers de la terre : Il est souverainement élevé.

1 ¶ (47-1) To the chief singer. Of the sons of Korah. Psalm. (47-2) All ye peoples, clap your hands. Push God to shouts of joy!
47: 1-10
The main concepts of #Ps 47 develop around keywords and phrases, eg "peoples" and "nations" (vv. #Ps 47: 2, #Ps 47: 4, #Ps 47: 8-9 ); "The earth" and "all the earth" (vv. 47: 3, #Ps 47: 8, #Ps 47: 9); "" King "and" to reign "(vv. #Ps 47: 3, #Ps 47: 7-9). The main message of this psalm is that God is the only ruler over all. From a structural point of view, two strophes full of adoration celebrate the universal kingship of the Eternal God, the Most High God.

4 (47-5) He chooses us our inheritance, The glory of Jacob that he loves. - Pause.

The glory of Jacob whom he loves. The "glory" or "pride" of Jacob also refers to the land of Canaan (cf. the term used as illustration in #Esa 13:19, then in #Esa 60:15, #Na 2: 3, etc.) . "What He Loves" is typical of divine, special and privileged love for the chosen people in the covenant (see #Mal 1: 2ss). The emphasis on God's covenant with Israel does not call into question the broader picture, encompassing all nations, drawn in the Abrahamic covenant in Gen. 12: 1-3.
5 ¶ (47-6) God ascended in the midst of the cry of triumph, and the LORD came forward to the sound of the trumpet.
God ascended amid shouts. Image of the presence of God: after having fought with his people, he made his victorious ascent towards his "immanent" residence on Mount Zion and his "transcendent" residence in heaven. This procession of the ark of the covenant was accompanied by loud cries and sounds of celebration (vv. 47: 6-7).
6 (47-7) Sing to God, sing! Sing to our king, sing!
7 (47-8) For God is king over all the earth: Sing a song!
8 (47-9) God reigns over the nations, God has for his holy throne seat.
9 (47-10) The rulers of the people shall gather themselves unto the people of the God of Abraham; For to God are the shields of the earth: He is loftily exalted.
