The precise location of the Valley of Armageddon is not clear because there is no mountain that bears the name of Megiddo . However, as the word " har " also means hill, the most likely place is probably the hilly region which is around the plain of Megiddo , just 60 miles north of Jerusalem. More than two hundred battles have taken place in this region. The plain of Megiddo and the nearby plain of Esdraelon will be the focal point of the battle of Armageddon which will spread over the entire length of the territory of Israel and reaches to the Edomite city of Bozrah south (Isaiah 63: 1 ) . Valley of Armageddon had already made ​​famous in the history of Israel on the occasion of two major victories : 1) the victory of Barak over the Canaanites (Judges 4 : 15) and 2) win Gideon the Midianites (Judges 7). Armageddon was also the scene of two great tragedies : 1) the death of Saul and his son ( 1 Samuel 31: 8) and 2) the death of King Josiah (2 Kings 23: 29-30 , 2 Chronicles 35: 22 ) .
